Use each statement once

Read the texts 7-14 and the statements A-J. Decide which text matches the situation described in the statements.

There are TWO extra statements which you do not need to use.

  1. Nicola meets with friends at a cafe near park, but they want both beer and soft drinks.
  2. Fernando likes healthy food and doesn’t mind paying a little extra for organic food. He wants a cafe near the beach.
  3. Amelia loves chilly food and rap music, but busy week of studying makes her look forward to a cafe visit on Saturday.
  4. Joe needs a good cafe near campus with a nice terrace. It should be inexpensive and serve great sandwiches.
  5. Karl is looking for a cafe with a good atmosphere. He wants cheap fast food, and loud music.
  6. Linda wants a really cool cafe to meet her cousins. They are both stylish and love sweet things.
  7. Kasia waits for a train after violin class, wants to relax in a quiet cafe near the station with delicious cake.
  8. Carla is from Italy and wants to eat her national meals.
  9. Bob needs a cafe for a business lunch with his colleagues. The cafe should offer fast service and be easily accessible by public transport.
  10. Omar wants to have meals from popular restaurant chain where the meals are healthy and not overpriced.

Luigi's Cafe

Open Monday to Friday, Luigi’s is popular with people who work in the city because it’s close to the train station. It can be noisy, but it’s very friendly and the service is quick. Visit Luigi’s if you want to try their homemade pies and excellent hot drinks.

Burger Basement

Although it’s in a basement, this brilliant cafe is bright and exciting. Lights of many different colours hang from the ceiling, and everyone sings along with the pop and rock songs. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s fun. You won’t believe the low cost of the chips and burgers!

Pancake Paradise

The latest cafe in town is Pancake Paradise, and everyone is talking about it. This is where all the fashionable people like to be seen, and to see each other. Enjoy the original art on the walls while you wait for your tasty pile of pancakes, served with ice cream or honey.

Sunshine Cafe

This is a wonderful new cafe which, so far, is very popular with young people. It’s just a short walk from the college and offers a wide choice of soups and sandwiches at very reasonable prices. The best thing about the Sunshine Cafe is its outdoor seating area. Here you can have some fun in the sun.

Green Dreams

Everything served in this busy seaside cafe is vegetarian and all natural. Try the carrot and spinach juice with one of the amazing salads. The prices are high, but definitely worth it. Green Dreams is owned and run by a local family who make everything fresh daily.

Quick & Cool

As the name suggests, this is where you should come if you want quick food in a cool place. Quick & Cool only opens at the weekends, but it fills up fast so get there early. Enjoy hip hop on the loud speakers and order some spicy chicken wings. You won’t stay long at Quick & Cool!

Tilly's Tea-Shop

This is the perfect place to get away from the noise of the city. It’s conveniently located between the museum and the railway station, and serves the best baked goods in town. They play gentle classical music there. You can choose from 20 types of tea and relax.

Healthy Henry's Restaurant

There’s a Healthy Henry’s cafe in almost every town we know. Our one is located close to the park and it’s always busy. Everything is made from the freshest ingredients available - it’s nice to enjoy food that you know is good for you. The prices are pretty fair, too.
