Instructions

Use each statement once

Read the texts 7-14 and the statements A-J. Decide which text matches the situation described in the statements.

There are TWO extra statements which you do not need to use.

Statements

  1. Rachel prefers guided museum tours and a place with a view to enjoy coffee.
  2. Simon seeks a museum with easy access and a chance to experience old public transport.
  3. Chris wants to show his grandchildren old games near the city center.
  4. As Mia is busy weekdays, she would like an art museum to visit on weekends and is happy to pay for entry.
  5. Amy has time to visit a museum after 5 p.m and she wants to explore the Internet’s impact on late 20th-century life.
  6. William wants to visit the city’s free museum to explore the lives of ancestors and various evolutions.
  7. Samuel is interested in visiting a museum of antique items and doesn’t mind the cost of ticket.
  8. Grace is keen on how to get into the cosmos and life there.
  9. Sarah wants to see what village life was like 300 years ago.
  10. Amelia wants to know what our ancestors ate and how they prepared meals.

Mr Bright's Toy Museum

Our museum is filled with all sorts of toys from all over the world. Enjoy our small museum your family as you experience life as a child through the ages. In the heart of the city, we enjoy excellent transport links. There is a small charge for admission.

Situated in the surrounding countryside of the city, Box Hill takes the visitor back through time to see Iron Age houses, 18th-century farms, and cottages through time. Experience what life was like for country folk, dress up, and become a Box Hill resident!

The Science Museum

The history of technology, including space exploration, medicine, and computing, all come together in this one space. Special late openings for adults every Wednesday evening from 6 pm-10 pm. Entrance is free but donations are welcome.

The Transport Museum

Come and see our fantastic exhibits of British-made cars and London buses. Our exhibits are not toys, but real-life, working forms of transport. Enjoy a ride on a Blackpool tram in the heart of London. Children enter free with one adult.

The Natural History Museum

The most popular museum in the city, and it’s totally free! Our famous dinosaur exhibition forms the backbone of your visit, plus the way early humans lived, rocks from Mars, and the evolution of flight in birds.

The Space Centre

Located on the outskirts of the city, the Space Centre is an educational museum giving everyone the opportunity to learn about travelling in space, the role of computers in space missions, and everyday life as an astronaut. Experience how it feels to wear a real space suit!

Although we’ve only been open for a few months, our small museum is making waves in the city. See our website for how! Discover the history of food culture not only in this country but internationally too. Join us for our cooking workshops every weekend. Easy to reach by bus or train.
