Multilevel Gap-fill

Read the text. Fill in each gap with ONE word. You must use a word which is somewhere in the rest of the text.

Beetle

Scientists may have found one answer to water shortages by developing a material that collects (1) from the air. They got the idea from an African desert beetle. This (2) is an expert at surviving in dry conditions. Its shell is covered in small bumps. These (3) collect drops of water from the air to keep the beetle alive. (4) studied the shape and material of the bumps. They will make their own (5) to collect water from the air. The scientists say the new technology is very promising. This (6) can help people who live in very dry areas. It could also help power plants, heating and air conditioning.
